As the industry wraps up the first half of 2025, GOED is delighted to share the results of our annual survey measuring GOED members’ satisfaction with our work and the value they find in different GOED activities.
92% of respondents, whose demographics in terms of geography and member level matched the overall membership, reported being satisfied with their GOED membership. 62% reported that they were “highly satisfied.”
As in previous years, the bulk of respondents’ highest-valued GOED projects included asking GOED staff questions on different topics, PR “crisis management,” global advocacy for omega-3s to regulators, and our annual Ingredient Market Report. Two initiatives launched since our last survey in 2024, our position statement on fish oil versus algae oil and our new Global Omega-3 Navigator — ranked #13 and #14 respectively out of 37 ranked activities.
When asked about general industry areas of concern, members especially highlighted (1) supply chain issues, (2) regulatory concerns like new MOAH regulations in the EU, and (3) tackling misleading claims about one type of omega-3 oil being superior to another. Readers can read the slides below with more details.

The Executive Order, which impacts countries that have not entered into a trade agreement with the US or are not negotiating in good faith, implements generally higher reciprocal tariff rates. Countries listed in Annex I of the Executive Order will be subject to the tariff specified therein, while countries not listed in Annex I will be subject to a 10% tariff.
In addition, Trump signed a separate executive order raising tariffs on goods from Canada from 25% to 35%.
To date, no tariff exemptions have been granted for omega-3 products. Up-to-date details on the tariff situation can be found here.
